I love learning about and trying to reconstruct how past societies lived and expressed themselves, through a study of their material culture, though I have only studied the Ancient Greek, Roman, and Persian worlds. Archaeology is a cool subject which involves survey & excavation techniques, history, art, architecture, geography, and religion. I get to study a range of primary evidence such as inscriptions, iconography –appearing on various forms of artistic media, (such as on vases, wall paintings, sculptural reliefs, floor mosaics, and graffiti) – ruins of buildings, pottery, and valuable & ordinary finds, numismatics (coinage), skeletal remains, and primary literary sources.Also, here’s a fun fact: Tiya Sircar tweeted about her favourite Spielberg film (Empire of the Sun) and I replied that Indiana Jones was my favourite, since it sparked my interest in Archaeology. SHE REPLIED TO ME SAYING THAT AS A CHILD THE FIRST JOB SHE WANTED WAS TO BE AN ARCHAEOLOGIST!!! The impact this had on me was (and still is) considerable, because my dream job is to become an archaeologist – another reason why Tiya is amazing.OK, I should stop boring you all,
moving on!

I like looking at drawings & paintings (both abstract and non-abstract). What particularly fascinates me is when artists draw their inspiration from the ancient world, such as Léon Bakst (Belarusian artist and set designer) who reused and reinterpreted architectural and decorative elements from the Minoan World as part of his set design for the theatrical production of Phèdre (1924) – a tragedy.

My Artwork
Myself and my brother (@goodcallpadawan) like to collaborate together and produce cool artworks. I conceptualise, draw drafts, arrange the layout, while he – an amazing digital artist – skilfully puts pen to paper (well, tablet). We have produced two works so far:
- Lorcan’s Mandalorian Helmet 01/02/2021
Based on Sabine’s helmet but with different colours. Green and Yellow are the colours of my Irish family crest – so, like the Mandalorians, there is an emphasis on tradition and family.

- Tiya Sircar’s Birthday Artwork 15/05/2021.She didn’t see it on her birthday (16/05/2021) until 18/05/2021_This took 3 months to conceptualise and draw. I wanted to thank Tiya for the positive impact she had on me. The darksaber splits the frame in two: the left side depicts Tiya and her dog, Ruby, with the quote “I’m too busy dancing to get knocked off my feet”; the right side shows S3 Sabine and her helmet with the quote “It’s art, everything has a meaning.”It was a success! Tiya saw it (thanks to my moots who shared the artwork and got Tiya’s attention <3) and saved it to her camera roll.
Tiya and Sabine are so inspiring!

Comfort Characters
- Sabine Wren
(should be obvious by now)
Out of all the Star Wars characters, I personally resonate with Sabine the most. She’s hardworking, sassy, very intelligent and bright, a weapons-expert, creative, and a brilliant artist. Sabine values art, history and culture, like myself :). I love all of her wonderful hairstyles, highlighting that she is not afraid to express herself, which I really admire.However, at the same time, Sabine is incredibly hard on herself, refusing to appear weak & vulnerable on the surface, thus concealing and internalising her deep troubles about her traumatic past. She seeks solitude and often prefers to be alone, which is relatable. I cry every time when watching “Trials of the Darksaber”; her catharsis really impacted me.She’s so unique! Sabine gives me much-needed confidence which is why I tweet about her daily. I love interacting with fellow Sabine stans. She will ALWAYS be my favourite SW character and I would love to be besties with her.
Please note that I do not have any romantic interest in Sabine. This Mandalorian is someone who really matters to me, that’s all.

Bo-Katan Kryze
Bo-Katan is such a fascinating and complex character. Although she has not had the greatest of relationships with her sister, Satine, and has encountered many obstacles, I admire her determination (notably after the death of Satine) to set things right, in order to reclaim Mandalore. She’s a natural leader. Also, I love her helmet design<3. It’s great fun to interact with Bo-Katan stans too :)

Qui-Gon Jinn
Qui-Gon is so different from the other Jedi. He lets the force guide him more than anything else, defies the Jedi council, and I like how he is Anakin’s caring father-figure.
